On June 30 the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (CCBP) organised the third edition of the "Belgian-Portuguese Routes for the Blue Economy" with a special focus on "Industry 4.0".
During the session, the following topics were discussed :
Understanding and optimising ocean observations
Materials, smart infrastructure and marine robotics, incl. e.g. drones
Data analysis, data mining and decision support tools
Education and social engagement
The event counted with the participation of Mr. Vincent Van Quickenborne, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Justice and the North Sea of Belgium; Ricardo Serrão Santos, Minister of Maritime Affairs of Portugal; Iain Sheperd, Senior Expert, DG Mare, European Commission; among many other experts in the industry.
The event was divided in four sessions, each with the following topics:
Session 1: Understanding and optimising ocean observations
Session 2: Safe and smart maritime operations, smart infrastructure and marine robotics
Session 3: Data analysis, data mining and decision support tools
Session 4: Education, communication and social engagement
The session wrapped-up with the event's notes by Mr. Pierre Poncelet, Secretary-General of the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.
